Microsoft is now letting anyone sign up for the Cortana for iOS beta
Siri, it’s time we had a talk.
It’s not that iPhone users don’t appreciate you, it’s just that you’re rarely more convenient than simply typing something into Google. I can’t even remember the last time I used you, but don’t worry, I’m not getting rid of you — I just think it’s time I explore my options. So I’m giving Cortana a try.
Earlier this week, Microsoft announced that it would begin inviting new participants to the Cortana for iOS beta in the coming weeks. The app has been in various stages of testing over the past several months, but this is the first time that every iPhone owner will have a chance to try Cortana.
“In the spirit of the Windows Insider Program, we’re looking for a limited number of people to get their hands on an early version of the app,” says Microsoft. “It’s important to keep in mind that this is the first public release of the Cortana for iOS beta. And that for now, Cortana for iOS is only available in the U.S. and China. Over the coming months, we’ll continue to deliver frequent updates to the app to expand the features and functionality.”
If you want to give Cortana for iOS a shot, simply fill out the information in this survey, hit ‘Done’ and hope that you get chosen to participate in the beta in the coming weeks.
